Swap XMR to USDT: Choose the Right Receiving Network

WALLET GUIDE · MONERO TO TETHER

To swap XMR to USDT, first open the receiving wallet and choose its USDT network. Select the same network in the exchange, enter your receiving address, and review the quote. Then send Monero to the deposit address generated for that order. Your Monero address is not your USDT receiving address.

Already have the right receiving address?

Open the XMR → USDT swap form. It initially selects USDT on TRON (TRC-20). Change that selection if your destination requires another available network.

Start with the destination, not the exchange rate

The most useful first screen is the one that tells you how to receive USDT. Open it before starting an order. This prevents a common mistake: choosing an attractive quote and only afterward discovering that your wallet cannot receive that particular version of USDT.

There are three practical situations. You may want USDT in a wallet you control, a deposit to an account on another platform, or a payment to someone else. The swap setup looks similar, but the checks differ. A personal wallet needs the correct account and network. A platform deposit may also have a minimum credit amount and temporary maintenance restrictions. A payment may have an exact invoice amount and an expiry time.

What to collect from the destination before creating an order
DestinationInformation to copyReason to pause
Your own walletUSDT receiving address and network nameThe app shows USDT but does not identify its network
An exchange accountCurrent deposit address, network and minimum depositDeposits are suspended or the expected output is below the credit minimum
A merchant or another personConfirmed address, network, amount and any payment deadlineThe recipient has supplied only “USDT” without a network

For an exchange account, obtain the details from the account’s current deposit page. An address in an old message or transaction history is not the best source. Deposit instructions can change, and a platform can support an asset for trading while suspending deposits on one of its networks.

For a payment, confirm who bears any later transfer cost. If the recipient expects a precise USDT amount, a floating quote can leave a shortfall when prices move. Discuss the accepted amount before placing the order. A quote shown in a browser is not evidence that an invoice has been paid.

If you are simply moving value into your own wallet, you have more flexibility. You can compare the available receiving networks after checking which ones your wallet supports and where you plan to use the USDT later. Avoid choosing a network solely because someone described it as cheap. An inexpensive transfer to the wrong network is not a saving.

Make the network names agree

Tether lists USDT on multiple protocols, including Ethereum, TRON and Solana. These are separate delivery networks. The receiving network in your order must match the destination’s instructions. Tether’s official protocol directory identifies the relevant token contracts; those contract addresses are not your personal deposit address.

Read the words beside the ticker, not just the USDT symbol. On AceChange, the TRON option is labelled Tether (TRC20) and uses the code USDTTRC. Ethereum appears as Tether (ERC20). A wallet may use slightly different labels, such as “USDT — TRON,” but the underlying network must be the same.

Address appearance is a secondary check. A TRON address commonly starts with T, while an Ethereum address starts with 0x. However, the same 0x format is used on several other networks. A plausible-looking address therefore cannot establish the correct chain. Treat the network label on the receiving screen as the decision point.

Keep the receiving screen open while you configure the swap. Compare the full address after pasting, using a device you trust. If you use a hardware wallet that can display the receive address, verify it there as well. A familiar beginning and ending are useful checks, but they do not replace comparing the address accurately.

Receiving USDT is different from sending it onward

A normal incoming token transfer does not charge a gas payment to your receiving wallet. The sender pays for that transaction. When you later send the USDT elsewhere, your own wallet needs whatever fee mechanism that network requires. Ethereum transactions use ETH for gas; TRON transactions use resources and may burn TRX when sufficient resources are unavailable. See the official Ethereum fee explanation and TRON resource model.

A new wallet can have additional setup requirements. Follow that wallet’s official instructions rather than paying an unsolicited “activation agent.” In particular, receiving USDT does not require giving anyone your seed phrase. If a person asks for recovery words to release a swap payout, stop the conversation and use the official support channel.

Prepare the Monero side before the quote clock starts

Open your Monero wallet and let it finish synchronizing. Check the amount available to send, not only the total balance displayed on the overview screen. Recently received funds or change can be unavailable for immediate spending. If the wallet says part of the balance is locked, creating more exchange orders will not unlock it.

Leave room for the sending fee. Suppose you intend to exchange an amount shown in the order: your wallet must be able to send that amount and pay its own transaction fee. Do not assume a “send maximum” button will deliver the exact deposit amount requested by the exchange. Review the wallet’s final send summary before approving anything.

If the XMR is on a custodial platform, inspect the withdrawal preview. Its withdrawal fee may be deducted from the entered amount or added separately. The useful figure is what will reach the swap deposit address. A withdrawal limit, security hold or maintenance notice can also make a timed order unsuitable until the platform is ready to send.

Prepare the browser as well. Use the genuine AceChange domain, close outdated order tabs, and keep the receiving address somewhere you can compare it. The exchange form should not need your Monero wallet’s recovery phrase or private spend key. Your wallet signs the outgoing transaction; the website provides the order instructions.

Do not use an address from this article or from another customer’s screenshot. Every real deposit must use the instructions issued for your own order. Even an address you used successfully in the past is not a substitute for the new order screen.

Create one order, then follow its instructions

1. Review the selected assets and the live output

Open the Monero-to-USDT form. Check that the sending asset is XMR. Then inspect the receiving asset and network, even if the page has already selected USDT. The default TRC-20 selection is a starting point, not a recommendation for every wallet.

Enter the amount you intend to send and wait for a current receive amount. If the interface shows a minimum, maximum or unavailable-route message, resolve that first. Do not use an old rate from an article to bypass a missing quote. The live form is the source for the amount and route available at that moment.

Read the rate option before continuing. Fixed and floating orders have different conditions. FixedFloat describes those conditions in its official FAQ; the order’s own amount and time requirements matter when you fund it. Choosing a fixed option does not make a late or incorrectly sized deposit automatically valid.

2. Add the receiving details and review the order

Paste your USDT receiving address into the recipient field. It should be the address from the destination you prepared earlier. It is not the Monero deposit address, your wallet’s private key, or the USDT token contract. Review the visible service terms and eligibility requirements before proceeding.

If you add an email address, use one you can access securely. If you choose not to add one where it is optional, save the order ID and tracking link yourself. Do this before leaving the browser to open your sending wallet. An open tab alone is a fragile record on a phone.

On the order screen, read the destination again. If the address or network is wrong, do not fund the order. Return to setup or contact support as appropriate. It is much easier to stop before sending than to ask anyone to recover an irreversible transfer afterward.

3. Send the requested XMR deposit once

Use the Monero address displayed by your order. Copy it into your wallet or scan the order’s QR code, then compare the resulting address and amount. A QR code can contain more than an address, so do not assume that scanning it means every field is correct.

Follow any additional information in the order exactly. Do not invent a payment ID or copy one from a previous transaction. If your wallet and the order appear to require incompatible details, pause and ask support before signing. Guessing is unnecessary when the funds have not yet left your wallet.

Review the wallet’s sending fee and approve only the transaction you intended. Then return to tracking. If the interface is slow to update, check your wallet history before pressing Send again. Two outgoing payments are two payments; repeatedly refreshing a page does not require another deposit.

Save the transaction ID alongside the order ID. These identifiers describe different things: the order belongs to the exchange workflow, while the transaction ID identifies the blockchain transfer. Support may need both to determine whether the delay is before deposit detection, during processing, or after payout.

If USDT has not appeared, locate the unfinished step

Begin with evidence rather than the elapsed time alone. “I created an order,” “my wallet sent XMR,” and “the exchange broadcast USDT” are separate events. The next useful check depends on which one has happened.

A practical delivery checklist
What you can confirmCheck nextAvoid
Order exists, but no outgoing XMR in wallet historyWhether the wallet actually submitted the transferAssuming an order automatically pulls funds from your wallet
XMR transaction appears in wallet historyTransaction status and the order’s deposit instructionsSending a second deposit to make the screen update
Order reports a payout transactionThat transaction on the selected USDT networkLooking it up on a different chain’s explorer
Payout reached the exchange deposit addressThe receiving platform’s credit requirementsAssuming the swap service controls the platform’s account balance

For Monero, a public transaction lookup does not expose the same recipient-and-amount information as a transparent blockchain. If a payment needs investigation, the wallet may provide a payment proof. Monero’s official proof-of-payment guide explains this process. Share a transaction-specific proof only through a verified support conversation; never disclose your wallet seed or private spend key.

If the payout is visible on the correct network but absent from your personal wallet, check whether the wallet is displaying the right account and network. Its token list or balance refresh may need attention. Use the official token information when adding a token view. An unsolicited token with “USDT” in its name is not automatically genuine Tether.

If the destination is an exchange account, compare the credited network and amount with the deposit rules you saved. A successful blockchain transfer does not force a platform to credit an unsupported network or an amount below its minimum. Send the receiving platform the payout transaction ID through its official support process.

If the order has no payout transaction and requires attention, use AceChange order tracking and the official contact page. Include the order ID, selected pair, sending amount, transaction ID and a short description of what the screen shows. Avoid posting those details in a public group where an impersonator can approach you.

A useful support message is specific: “The Monero wallet shows the deposit submitted; the order still shows awaiting deposit.” A message saying only “the swap is broken” makes it harder to identify the stage. Include the time and timezone if timing is relevant, and distinguish what you saw from what you assume happened.

Keep a private record that you can actually use

A swap from Monero to USDT changes the privacy characteristics of the asset you hold. The USDT payout on a public network can be visible on that network’s explorer. Monero’s privacy does not make the later USDT transfer invisible. Plan your receiving account and what information you share accordingly.

Keep the order ID, deposit transaction ID, payout transaction ID when available, selected networks and the received amount in your own records. You do not need to publish that record to prove you used the service. If you take a screenshot for support, crop unrelated balances, other accounts and personal notifications.

Never store your recovery phrase with an exchange receipt. Recovery words give control over a wallet; an order record helps identify a transaction. Treating them as the same type of information creates an avoidable security problem.

If you are swapping for someone else, agree in advance which person supplies the receiving address and checks arrival. Forwarding addresses through several chats creates extra opportunities for mistakes. Ask the recipient to confirm the network in words as well as sending an address.

Questions to settle before you send

Can I receive USDT in my Monero wallet?

A Monero-only wallet receives XMR, not USDT on another blockchain. A multi-asset application may support both, but you still need its separate USDT receiving screen and the correct network. Do not paste a Monero address into the USDT recipient field.

Does TRC-20 mean I am receiving TRX?

No. The selected asset is USDT, while TRON is the network carrying it. TRX is a different asset associated with that network. Read both the asset and network labels so that you do not accidentally select a swap to TRX instead of USDT.

Can I send a tiny test payment to the swap address first?

Do not split an order into a test and a remainder unless its instructions explicitly allow that. A small deposit may fall below the minimum or leave the order incorrectly funded. If you want to test the overall route, create a separate order that meets its own current requirements and complete that order properly.

Why is the received amount different from a market chart?

A chart is a market reference, while a swap quote describes a particular route and amount under its own conditions. Review the live receive amount and selected rate type. For a fuller explanation of quote components, use the fixed-versus-floating swap guide.

Should I create a new order if the first one looks slow?

First check whether the original order has been funded. If you already sent XMR, keep that order’s details and investigate its status. Creating another order does not move the first deposit to it. If you have not sent anything, make sure you follow only the instructions for the order you ultimately choose to fund.

Do I need to connect my wallet to the website?

The reviewed AceChange flow uses a receiving address and a separate transfer from your wallet. You do not need to give the website your recovery phrase. Our guide to swapping without connecting a wallet explains the separation between order setup and wallet authorization.

Ready to review your quote?

Have the USDT receiving screen open, confirm the network, and check that your Monero wallet can send the requested deposit plus its fee. Then open the XMR-to-USDT form. Pause if the destination or live quote is unclear.

Editorial note: This guide combines official protocol documentation with an original wallet-preparation workflow. The XMR-to-USDT-TRC20 quote interface was checked on September 30, 2026; no funded trade is claimed. Availability and order conditions can change.
