Swap Litecoin to Monero: Receive XMR in Your Own Wallet

LTC → XMR · PREPARE, COMPARE, RECEIVE

To swap Litecoin for Monero, you need a working LTC-to-XMR quote, Litecoin available to send, and a Monero receiving address. You send LTC to the deposit address assigned to the exchange order. The provider processes the exchange and sends XMR to your receiving wallet. Sending Litecoin directly to a Monero address cannot convert it.

Start with the receiving wallet, not the Send button. Having that wallet ready makes the rest of the exchange easier to check. This guide follows the decisions in that order: prepare somewhere to receive XMR, compare the actual output, fund one valid order, and verify the result. It also explains the common situation where the exchange reports completion before a Monero wallet has finished updating.

Your ready-to-swap check: I control the Litecoin I will send; I can open my Monero wallet; I have copied its receiving address; I can cover the sending fee; and the order shows LTC on the sending side and XMR on the receiving side.

First, make sure you can receive native XMR

Choose a wallet that actually supports Monero. A wallet supporting Bitcoin, Litecoin or Ethereum does not automatically support XMR. If you already use a multi-asset app, open its wallet list and confirm that you have a Monero wallet, rather than assuming that a generic Receive button is sufficient. Native XMR is the asset you intend to receive from this route.

If you need to install a wallet, start from the project’s official website or its verified app-store link. Complete its setup and backup process before initiating the exchange. Keep recovery information private and stored according to the wallet’s instructions. An exchange needs a receiving address for delivery; it does not need the secret material used to recover or spend from your wallet.

For an overview of the asset and wallet considerations, the Monero project’s FAQ is a useful primary reference. This article focuses on receiving an exchange payout, rather than selecting an investment or predicting XMR’s price. If your aim is simply to obtain XMR from cryptocurrency you already hold, a direct supported route avoids adding an unnecessary intermediate exchange.

Using Cake Wallet as the receiving wallet

In Cake Wallet, select your Monero wallet and open Receive. Copy the address shown for the account you intend to use. Cake’s receiving documentation explains the current interface. Read the wallet name and asset before copying: the correct address from the wrong selected wallet is still the wrong destination for this exchange.

Cake Wallet supports Monero accounts and subaddresses. Its Monero documentation explains that subaddresses receive into the relevant wallet account, and that the app can generate new ones automatically. Use a supported address from your wallet and check that the exchange accepts it. You do not need to invent a separate address or enter recovery words into the swap form.

Keep a private note linking the receiving account or address label to this order. That is useful if you maintain several wallets or accounts. There is no need to publish the address in a community chat to prove you are ready. If you later need support, start with the order reference and provide additional transaction information through the service’s official support channel.

Let the receiving wallet update before the swap

Monero wallets need to scan relevant blockchain information to identify their incoming funds. A wallet that is behind can display an outdated balance. Cake Wallet explicitly advises allowing synchronization to finish; its Monero documentation also describes connection and node checks when synchronization stalls. Getting this step out of the way makes it easier to recognize the exchange payout when it arrives.

This preparation does not require a balance of XMR merely to copy a receiving address. Receiving and later spending are separate tasks. You should understand what the wallet requires before spending the new funds, but you do not need to pay a stranger a “wallet activation” fee to receive an ordinary exchange payout. Ask through official support if a request appears inconsistent with the wallet’s instructions.

Second, compare what you will receive

Open the AceChange crypto swap form. Select Litecoin as the sending asset and Monero as the receiving asset, then enter the amount of LTC you intend to deliver. Check the full selections after the pickers close. Wait for the quote to finish loading before evaluating the output or proceeding.

A visible coin in a dropdown is not a promise that every exchange amount or direction is currently supported. Routes can have limits or temporary availability changes. If no valid XMR output appears, stop there. Do not reuse deposit information from another order or send coins based on an approximate price elsewhere. The current order must support the transaction you intend to make.

Review the rate type as well as the amount. A floating quote is an estimate that can change under the provider’s execution rules. A fixed quote has specific payment and timing conditions. The provider’s FAQ explains these concepts; the current order details govern your exchange. Choose based on the conditions you can satisfy, rather than treating the word “fixed” as a guarantee independent of your payment.

A simple worked example without a live-price claim

Imagine you decide to send 2 LTC. Your wallet quotes a separate network fee of 0.0002 LTC, and an exchange offers an illustrative 0.2000 XMR after its included costs. You would need 2.0002 LTC available to deliver the 2 LTC deposit. The expected output would be 0.2000 XMR, subject to the stated rate conditions.

Those are invented teaching numbers, not today’s LTC/XMR rate. Their purpose is to keep the sending debit, deposit amount and receiving amount separate. If another offer returns 0.2010 XMR under the same conditions, the difference is 0.0010 XMR. You can compare that difference with any additional cost or condition before choosing. Do not subtract a fee twice when it is already included in the quoted output.

For a hosted Litecoin balance, inspect the withdrawal preview rather than applying the example’s fee model automatically. Some services deduct a withdrawal charge from the entered amount; others show an additional debit. The exchange order needs the amount its instructions specify. Read the net amount being sent and adjust only according to the actual interface and order requirements.

Built-in wallet swap or an external exchange?

Cake Wallet also has an integrated Swap feature. That is a different workflow from using Cake solely to receive XMR from an external order. The official swap documentation describes provider selection, quotes and a trade reference. If you use that route, check which provider is processing the exchange and keep its reference.

With an external route, Cake can remain your receiving wallet while you create and track the order on the exchange website. Compare the same delivered LTC amount and resulting XMR under similar conditions. Neither interface is automatically the better deal. A useful comparison records an actual quote rather than assuming that the wallet app adds a particular fee or that an external website is always cheaper.

Third, fund one checked order

Enter the Monero address you prepared into the swap’s receiving-address field. Confirm that the field is requesting an XMR address. Read the summary before choosing to create the order under the service’s terms. If you reached the form from a link, recheck both selections anyway; the live summary is the final opportunity to catch an unintended direction or asset.

After order creation, the service provides payment instructions for the Litecoin deposit. This is a new destination supplied for the exchange, not the Monero address you entered earlier. Open the sending wallet’s Send function and follow those instructions. Check the network and amount as well as the address. A normal LTC payment must use the Litecoin route specified by the order.

The distinction is worth stating plainly: your Litecoin wallet pays the order; the order pays your Monero wallet. The two addresses are not interchangeable. Keep the browser and wallet screens arranged so you can compare them without rushing. If you scan a QR code, inspect the decoded payment details before authorizing the outgoing transaction.

When your Litecoin is in a self-custody wallet

Check that the spendable balance covers the deposit and any additional sending fee. Review the destination on the wallet’s confirmation screen. For a supported hardware-wallet workflow, check the relevant information on the device as well. Follow your wallet’s normal authorization process; an address-based exchange does not require importing your recovery phrase into the website.

After sending, keep the transaction identifier from your wallet history. The Litecoin network and exchange processing are separate stages. A wallet may display a payment before the exchange has recorded enough confirmations to proceed. Use the order’s status and requirements instead of applying a timing estimate from another coin or another service.

When your Litecoin is held by another platform

A hosted platform can add a withdrawal stage before anything appears on the Litecoin network. Check its withdrawal network, net amount, charge and processing status. If it will not release the payment within the order’s allowed timing, do not treat clicking Withdraw as proof that the exchange has received LTC. Contact the relevant service before taking another financial action.

Avoid relying on a saved withdrawal address from a previous swap. The new order has its own instructions. If the sending platform asks for additional information you do not understand, pause and use its official help. Do not supply a made-up memo, an unrelated address or an incorrect network just to make the withdrawal form accept the request.

Testing with a smaller amount

A smaller first order can help you learn the workflow, provided it meets the displayed minimum and you understand its costs. It must be a complete order for that smaller amount. Creating an order for 5 LTC and sending a tiny fraction as an informal trial does not test the same conditions and can leave the order underfunded.

Complete and verify the smaller exchange before deciding whether to create another. A successful small exchange does not guarantee every later transaction, price or route. It does give you a chance to check your receiving-wallet setup and recordkeeping. Each subsequent order still needs its own current quote, address review and payment instructions.

Fourth, verify arrival in the Monero wallet

Follow the exchange through its official tracking page. On AceChange, use Track Order and keep the reference available until you have checked the result. A useful sequence is: Litecoin sent, deposit recognized, exchange processed, XMR payout sent, receiving wallet updated. The exact status labels can differ, but those stages help you understand where to investigate.

Open the intended Monero wallet and account, allow synchronization to finish, then inspect the incoming transaction or balance change. If you use several accounts, a correct payment into one account will not necessarily appear where you were looking in another. Compare the receiving address saved with the order and the wallet account you prepared before sending.

Monero does not expose ordinary address balances and transaction amounts publicly in the same way as a transparent blockchain. Do not expect to paste an XMR receiving address into a public explorer and obtain the same view as your wallet. The receiving wallet and the provider’s payout information are the appropriate starting points for checking delivery. The Monero project’s FAQ explains its transaction-privacy design and wallet behavior.

A wallet can distinguish a received balance from a balance ready to spend. If it shows an incoming transaction that is not yet spendable, follow the wallet’s status and instructions. This is a different situation from an exchange that has not sent its payout. Do not attempt to fix either situation by sending an extra deposit unless official order support has explained a specific, verified requirement.

Send a concise support message: the order reference, which stage you reached, the outgoing transaction identifier and the mismatch you observed. “My LTC withdrawal is still pending on the sending platform” is more useful than “my swap disappeared.” Use private official support for order details. Never post recovery words or private keys; they do not belong in an exchange-support conversation.

If an order expires or receives a different amount, follow its displayed resolution options or speak to support before sending more. Refunds and recoveries depend on the circumstances and the service’s rules; do not assume an automatic outcome. Our pending-swap guide and refund information provide the relevant next steps.

Answers to common LTC-to-XMR questions

Do I have to exchange Litecoin into Bitcoin first?

No intermediate Bitcoin exchange is needed when a valid direct LTC-to-XMR route is available for your amount. An extra conversion adds another quote and another set of instructions to check. If the direct pair is unavailable, evaluate any alternative on its own terms rather than assuming two swaps will be cheaper or faster.

Can I use a Monero subaddress?

Use a receiving address generated by your Monero wallet and confirm that the exchange accepts that address type. Cake Wallet supports subaddresses, as described in its documentation. Address validation is a useful check, but it does not prove that you copied the address of the intended wallet or account; make that comparison yourself.

Is an LTC-to-XMR quote the same as a completed exchange?

No. A quote is the offer available under stated conditions. Order creation, payment, confirmation, conversion and payout still have to happen. Seeing both currencies in a selector establishes even less. This guide therefore directs you to the current form rather than printing a rate that would quickly become outdated.

What if I was searching for an LTC-to-XMR no-KYC swap?

Begin with the same practical checks: a supported pair, your receiving wallet and the current service terms. A search phrase does not determine an order’s requirements. Read the provider information shown with the quote and decide before funding the order. Our no-KYC swap walkthrough covers the broader process.

Can I swap back from XMR to LTC later?

The reverse direction is a separate order with its own availability, limits, quote and receiving address. Do not reverse the payment instructions from an earlier LTC-to-XMR order. Start again with the reverse pair selected and prepare a Litecoin receiving address in the wallet where you want the result delivered.

What should I keep after the swap?

Keep the order reference, outgoing transaction record, quoted and final amounts, costs and receiving-wallet note in your private records. Those details help reconcile balances and answer support or accounting questions later. You do not need to leave them visible on a public profile, and keeping them does not require sharing wallet recovery information.

Ready to review a quote? Open the AceChange swap form, choose LTC → XMR, and check the current output before creating an order. Have the Monero receiving wallet ready first. That preparation turns the exchange into a sequence you can verify at every stage.
